Grade championships - info

We have started yesterday in completing our separate grade championships.

I divided the grade fives in 4 groups - with four players in each group.  They play a round robin match against everyone in the group.

The top 2 op each group go through to the "King" and "Rook" quarters and semi finals.
The bottom 2 of each group go through to the "Bishop" and "Pawn" quarters and semi finals.

Click on the picture below (to enlarge) for more clarity.

The players playing in the Rook and Pawn semi-finals, are the one's who lost their quarter-final matches.  Thus ensuring they have another chance to win at least some consolation prize.

If you have ever watched the Rugby 7's, they also use this table to determine the Cup, Plate, Shield and Bowl winners.  (I just gave other names) :-)

The next couple of posts, I will give feedback on how the different grades a progressing through the finals etc.

I have started with the grade 5's yesterday, on Tuesday they will play their finals.  Also on Tuesday, the grade 6 championship group games will start.  The few grade 7 players (and JJ), and the rest of the grade fours and threes will play in their own "league" respectively.  More info and clarity will follow soon!
