2016 Tournament Results

Good day everyone!

We want to thank you for coming out to join our chess tournament! Special mention to Altus Bosch who's parents have driven all the way from Upington to represent Laerskool Oranje at our tournament. We appreciate your effort and I'm sure your son won't easily forget this experience!

We hope your children enjoyed their first tournament (for most). May they continue to learn, like and love the great game of chess!

I hope to see them again at the WP Schools Chess District Trials in February next year.

Friendly Chess Tournament

Here are some final arrangement for this weekends tournament:

Time: Registration starts at 8:00.  We want to start just after 9:00 with the first round.

Entry fee: R30 pp payable at registration.

Rounds: We are going to play 5 rounds

Schedule of rounds:
The first round to end at 10:00
2nd start at 10:30
3rd round at 11:30
4th round at 12:30
5th round at 13:30

Prize giving: Approx 15min after the last game finishes. Approx. 14:30

Prizes: Medals to the first 3 in each age category, and a small trophy to the winner.

If for any reason you can't make it - please let me know so that I can take the name out of the draw. Hence the big gap between round 1 and 2 - for any and all alterations (people not showing must be taken out).

A tuck shop will be open throughout the day and some chess goodies will be on sale.
Key holders from chess pieces, charms, necklaces and wine glass holders/identifiers for the parents. (see picture)
